New Year Coding Challenge 2021

 



As we step into 2021, Codingal aims to empower our young champions to create a real change in the new year. To help children learn and love coding Codingal launching New Year Coding Challenge for Grade 1 to Grade 12


What will this competition offer?

Winners will get "Google Mini Home" & merchandise from Codingal
Winners will get a 50% discount on "Coding Champion Course" from Codingal
 

The challenge is about creating change for a better future. The young coders will be given an opportunity to create a gaming app in the Junior Section and create an app, or a website on any UN (United Nations) Sustainable Developments Goals for Middle and Senior Section respectively.

Technology Training: MIT App Inventor


 This November, Library will be organising free training on MIT App Inventor. The programme is open to all the students of KV Kanjikode. Consent from your parent is mandatory. The live sessions will be scheduled in the evening (4.00 pm to 6:00 pm)

One batch can have up to 20 students. The selection will be on first come first serve basis. If you are interested fill the registration form available in Library Google Classroom.

Don't worry, if you are unable to join the first batch, the sessions will be made available on the Cyber Safety and Coding Club too.

Cyber Security Awareness Quiz on MyGov.in

 National Cyber Security Awareness Quiz

On the occasion of October being celebrated as National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM) globally, Data Security Council of India (DSCI) has decided to conduct an awareness quiz on MyGov Platform.

NCSAM is an initiative to put conscious efforts towards ensuring better cyber security hygiene and incorporate stronger security measures. Cyber Security is now a part of every individual’s life. The more connected we get, safeguarding our digital identities becomes a shared responsibility. The more we share, the more we must care!

The objective of this quiz is to spread awareness around Cyber Security Best Practices among citizens who access online services and must impart basic security hygiene to keep using Digital services securely and #StayCyberSafe.

Cybersecurity refers to the techniques of protecting systems, networks, and programs from digital attacks that are aimed for exploitation.

‘Cyber Security Quiz – MyGov Goa’ is an initiative of Department of Information Technology, Government of Goa. The Overall objective of the Quiz is to create awareness among citizens regarding various cyber threats and encourage them to adopt best security measures to remain safe and secure in online world.

MIT App Inventor Training Programme

 The online training on MIT App Inventor will commence  in October 2020 after the examinations.

The number of students per batch will be limited to 25. The selection of students will be on the order of registration and submission of parental consent. 

The timing will be from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

The registration form is available on the Cyber Safety and Coding Club Classroom.

Interested students from Class III to VII can join the session through the Google Classroom Link of Cyber Safety and Coding Club.

 Cyber Peace Foundation is organising webinars on Cyber Security from 21-25 September 2020. The timing of the webinar is at 10:00 am. The webinar will be held on Zoom app.

Google Scratch Training by Adore India for Juniors

ADORE INDIA motivates the youth to identify and undertake positive activities for a better society. We are a voluntary network of University students and professionals who interact with students so that they grow and  become successful  professionals and responsible citizens.

Cyber Safety & Coding Club will be organising a training programme for the member of Cyber Safety & Coding Club Junior this month in association with Adore India. This will be a series of training on various online tools and programming skills planned for the session.

The first batch of the training programme is scheduled to commence on 14 September 2020. The training will be for 5 days and will be conducted on Google Meet from 4.00 PM to 5.00 pm. If you can attend the programme during that time, you can register by filling the form given in the classwork. Only if you can attend all the 5 days, join the programme. 

If you have difficulty to attend now, don't worry you can join the next batch on a convenient time and date.

The registration form and consent form format is uploaded on the Club Classroom. Also you will have take a print out of the consent form and get it filled and signed your parent. The consent form should uploaded to this Classroom by 10 September 2020. 

The students will be enrolled for the first batch of the above training on first-cum-first-serve basis. Late submissions may be considered only for the next batch.

 As the Covid Lockdown is continuing, the Online Cyber Safety and Coding Club will function online now. Students are requested to contact the Librarian or Computer Teacher for joining the online Club.

The students trained under the Project "Let's be Cyber Smart" will be a part of this club who will help other students to be aware of the various online threats. The members will also get opportunities to learn various online and offline tools for animation, image editing, video editing, gaming, mobile app development, web designing and programming. You will also be getting opportunities to meet and interact with experts on Cyber Safety, Coding etc.

There will two clubs as follows

1. Junior - Classes III to VII

2. Senior - Classes VIII to XII

Etiquette on WhatsApp Groups


WhatsApp has revolutionized the way we communicate. The ability to convey messages instantly to the class through the Class Group is very convenient to all.

We need to follow some etiquette to put WhatsApp to better use. These are meant mainly for the Class Groups we maintain in our Vidyalaya to connect with our classes during this lockdown.
